Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and determination to improving South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions in the course of an engagement with the company's senior professionals at a strategic arranging session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled inside the 2024 matric exams.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% of the registered pupils during the education and learning sector.
These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the investment national government is generating inside the life of lousy and vulnerable children is yielding a favourable impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on the latest achievements, the Minister highlighted important milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing the issue of long-lasting leadership appointments and the scarcity of personnel at most community offices.
On top of that, the Minister highlighted the need for Local community-based engagements and outreach actions.
"Our Local community is awaiting our enormous intensification of community outreach, the place we prioritise underserved areas to carry services closer to our persons," she reiterated.
With regards to SASSA methods, Tolashe urged management to prioritise improving upon and modernising methods to boost accessibility, queue sassa status check administration and prevent fraud.
